The renowned British newspaper ‘Independent’ named Bosnian Dušica Bijelić among the 10 biggest young artists in the world who will excel in 2014.
According to the newspaper, this 26-year-old sopranist from B&H went to Serbia, where at eight years old began her musical education.
As a girl, she played the piano and participated in several competitions. After this, she began to take acting and dance classes, and at 12 years old hosted a children’s show on national television.
After finishing the Faculty of Performing Arts in Belgrade, in the class of Professor Ljudmila Gross-Popović and the Faculty of Music in Vienna in the class of Professor Gabriela Lechner, Dušica received a scholarship for Opera Studies Santa Cecilia in Rome, after which she took part in several programs for soprano.
She won several prestigious awards, among which is the Career Bridges in New York and the Audience Award at the Festival of Wildbad Rossini. She is currently a member of the Royal Opera House in Great Britain.
