The Returnee Marko Misic died after being brutally beaten

Brutal violence in a village near Derventa in October horrified everyone. Namely, the returnee Marko Misic was brutally beaten when he tried to protect his property – the forest.

However, as it was found out, Marko Misic died from injuries sustained on October 12th.

This information was confirmed by Marko Misic’s son for N1.

To recall, during the attack, 68-year-old Marko was seriously injured, which is why he was placed in the intensive care unit of the hospital in Slavonski Brod.

In the attack, he suffered injuries to his head, chest, lungs, and broken ribs. All because of what the locals, first of all returnees, have been pointing out for years about forest thieves with whom the authorities cannot deal, and who most often attack the property of returnees, of whom there are very few here.

Out of the pre-war population of around 7,500, only 91 villagers live in the villages that gravitate towards the nearby Franciscan monastery Plehan. The Doboj police confirmed that it was indeed an attack due to the theft of the forest.

The person with the initials M.C. and one minor were then deprived of the freedom.

Attacks on returnees are becoming more frequent in both entities and especially in Republika Srpska (RS). The Ministry of Internal Affairs does not respond to an inquiry about the number of attacks this year alone, but at least four have been recorded so far.
