The Sarajevo City Council will hold a session on November 26thto elect the mayor and deputy mayor.
The terms of former Mayor Benjamina Karic and Deputy Mayor Samir Avdic have ended, the Sarajevo City Council announced.
Karic resigned to take up the position of Mayor of the Novo Sarajevo Municipality.
The mayor of Sarajevo is not elected directly by the citizens; instead, the selection depends on the balance of political powerwithin the City Council.
