Vincent Ibrahimović, the son of the recently retired striker Zlatan, received an invitation to the camp of the Swedish national team for players born in 2008.
As we know, Zlatan is originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but he played for Sweden in his career, and Vincent, a member of Milan’s youth team, will follow his father.
“We have a camp with the aim of seeing players born in 2008 in action. Vincent Ibrahimovic plays for AC Milan, who have a strong Academy and is one of the 66 players who received calls. Based on the games I have seen on tape, he is a central midfielder a player, who has a good overview of the game, knows his way around the pitch and is also a good finisher.
“I understand that there will be an uproar over the selection of Vincent Ibrahimovic. His father is one of the best Swedish players of all time and now it’s the first time Vincent Ibrahimovic is involved,” says Axel Kjäll.
Janne Andersson, who is the outgoing national team captain for the men’s national team, was asked in a chat with Sportbladet’s readers if he had seen Vincent Ibrahimovic play and if he can be as good as his father.
“I have met him, but I have not seen him play. So therefore I cannot rate him. We shouldn’t make too big comparisons between them, I think, it’s not really fair. It’s obviously very exciting,” says Janne Andersson.
17-year-old older brother Maximilian Ibrahimovic belongs to Milan U18 and has previously played for youth teams in Hammarby, Sportbladet reports.
