A strong storm hit the French island of Corsica yesterday. The wind, which blew at a speed of up to 224 kilometers per hour, uprooted trees and carried away roofs. Six people died in the storm, including a child.

It is a girl (13) who was killed by a tree that fell on her while she was at a summer camp. A man was killed in the same incident, while a woman was killed when her car hit the roof of a house that was destroyed by the wind.

Several people were injured both on land and at sea, and witnesses to the storm said it was completely unexpected and no warning was given.

The extreme heat recorded in the Balkans this week represents one of the last shocks of the heat wave.

Meteorologists announce that showers will begin in the late evening hours. Bosnia and Herzegovina expects a drop in temperature, a large amount of precipitation, and there may be yellow, or dirty, rain.

The rest of the Western Balkans are expecting the same weather conditions.

Due to local showers accompanied by thunder, the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute has issued an orange warning for the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Meteoalarm was activated due to the predicted storm, i.e. local showers accompanied by thunder.
