The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, spoke today with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Michael Murphy.
At the beginning, Kristo paid tribute to today’s 23rd anniversary of the horrific terrorist attack, which on September 11, 2001 horrified the world and drew attention to the importance of common, global unity in the fight against radicalism and terrorism.
Minister Krišto welcomed the continuity and strong interest of the American administration towards the countries of the Western Balkans, and especially towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She said that the strong support of the USA for the entry of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the countries of the Western Balkans into the European Union is a guarantee for peace and security in the region.
In this atmosphere, she thanked for the previous support and help in the reform efforts of BiH on the way to European integration, the fight against corruption, the establishment of the rule of law and mediation in the negotiations on the reform of the Electoral Law.
She expressed expectations for the continuation of the proactive role of the USA and support in the implementation of reforms that are crucial for the functionality and stability of BiH.
Ambassador Murphy pointed out that the USA remains strongly committed to preserving the stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the meeting, which was also attended by the new Deputy Head of Mission at the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Daniel Koski, the current political situation in the country, the region and Europe was discussed, as well as joint activities to accelerate the necessary reforms, especially the reform of electoral legislation in the process of European integration. it was announced from the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
