The Trial of the Parents of Boy who killed Ten People continues

With the emotional testimony of the families of the murdered children, the court proceedings before the High Court in Belgrade continued against the parents of K.K., the boy who killed nine students and a security guard at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School in Belgrade on May 3 last year.

Members of the Kobiljski family, the mother and father of the murdered girl spoke at the hearing on Thursday.

“What is success? A return to functionality? You need to be strong and keep your sanity – I know that. We can’t bring our children back – I know that, it’s a battle we’ve lost. Last summer, out of nowhere, I fell on the street and injured myself, I didn’t know how to explain why. I feel as if my heart is bleeding, and the physical manifestation of mental pain is enormous,” said the crying mother, as reported by regional media.

She also talked about the daily struggles when she goes to work and said that at work she cries first and only then starts working.

“I constantly feel sadness and pain. I could not protect my child. Did we lie to them when we taught them to be good? Our children were killed where they should have been,” she added.

Tears and sobs echoed through the courtroom as the father told how his daughter was a child he understood from the first time she grew up in a loving and understanding world.

“I was alone in a parking lot when my wife called me: ‘Our Ema has been killed.’ I then fell on the floor and asked God: ‘Why?’ “I said I was leaving for Belgrade right away. When I got home, she met me at the door and said she was just waiting for me to come and we both cried,” said the father.

Let us remind you that this court process was jointly initiated by the families of the murdered children, and so far several of them have testified about the tragedy that happened last May, but also about the lives they lived before and after it. This is the second case against the family of K.K., and the first was initiated by the family of one of the murdered girls.
