The United States (U.S.) Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar, along with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried, will arrive in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) tomorrow.

It is important to mention that the visit to BiH is part of a five-day visit to the Western Balkans, which began yesterday with the arrival in Pristina, after which the delegation travels to Belgrade today, Klix.ba writes.

After visiting the Serbian capital, they will arrive in Sarajevo on Wednesday.

It is stated that in BiH, Escobar will call on officials to continue participating in institutions at all levels of government, in order to improve functionality and reforms for greater prosperity and to make it possible for BiH to get the status of a candidate for the European Union (EU) membership.

Donfried will also call on the authorities in BiH to hold elections in time, in the autumn, and to make progress in the fight against “endemic corruption”.

After visiting BiH, Escobar and Donfried will travel to North Macedonia, then to Albania, and finally to Montenegro.
