The American Embassy rejected the accusations of connection with any court proceedings in Bosnia and Herzegovina as false and misleading, it was announced from the Embassy after allegations of connection of this institution in the case against Fadil Novalić and others who were accused today of irregularities in the procurement of respirators.

“The United States strongly supports the independent and courageous law enforcement, prosecution, and judiciary institutions that work on behalf of the citizens of this country to investigate, prosecute, and punish the corruption that plagues the democracy and economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that forces so many citizens of this country to leave it and build lives for themselves and their families elsewhere,” the Embassy said in a statement on Twitter.

The Embassy states that they have always called on the judicial institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to hold those in power accountable for their actions.

They also reminded that many polls and statements have shown that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have no confidence in judicial institutions and that corruption is getting worse.
