The US Embassy welcomed the move by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which today adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Gas Pipeline “Southern Interconnection Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia”.

The amendments to the law allow an American company to develop, build, finance and operate the gas pipeline.

“Today, BiH has taken a major step towards diversifying its energy supply and strengthening economic ties with the United States. We hope for its imminent adoption in parliament and the launch of the project. BiH and America are stronger together,” the US Embassy said.

As previously announced by the Government of the Federation of BiH, this is one of the most important infrastructure and energy projects for the Federation of BiH and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which directly affects the security of gas supply, the stability of the energy system and overall economic development.

The amendments to the law also introduce an American investor, the company AAFS Infrastructure and Energy d.o.o., which is registered in Sarajevo and is fully owned by the American company AAFS Infrastructure and Energy LLC.

Amendments to the law have been submitted to the FBiH Parliament.
