The US strongly Supports the Territorial Integrity and Sovereignty of BiH

The US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson and Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH Johann Sattler met yesterday with the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Bakir Izetbegovic and Deputy Speaker Dragan Covic to promote dialogue on feasible election reforms, the rule of law and economic reforms necessary for citizens’ trust and progress on the road to the European Union, the US Embassy stated via Twitter.

“The United States strongly supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH. Inflammatory rhetoric and steps to undermine these principles are unrealistic, unacceptable and anti-Dayton PA”.

Additionally, these actions serve as an excuse for leaders to avoid responsibility for implementing important reforms such as inclusive electoral and limited constitutional reforms for freer and fairer elections, rule of law measures to hold the corrupt accountable, and economic change to bring employment and investment.

Real reforms and serious dialogue, not destabilizing actions and rhetoric, are what will bring BiH citizens a better future”.
