The Victims of Jasenovac must not be forgotten

A day of remembrance for Serbian, Jewish and Roma victims of the Ustasha camp Jasenovac was marked in Donja Gradina today.

The marking of the Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Ustasha crime – genocide in the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) in the Jasenovac concentration camp ended with religious remembrances for the victims and the address of the officials of the Republika Srpska and Serbia.

Before the commemoration and address, wreaths and flowers were laid for the victims in the system of this Ustasha camp.

The Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Ustasha Crime – Genocide in the Independent State of Croatia / NDH / in the Jasenovac concentration camp is being marked by Srpska and Serbia together.

Donja Gradina is the largest execution site in the system of concentration camps “Jasenovac”, which was formed in August 1941, immediately after the proclamation of the Independent State of Croatia.

82,000 Serbs, 80,000 Roma and 23,000 Jews were killed in the Jasenovac camp.

Almost 20,000 children were among the victims during the 1,337 days of the Jasenovac camp.
