climbersCitizens of Sarajevo have a chance to try out mountain climbing, every Wednesday from 6 p.m. on Dariva near Sarajevo, and it’s totally free of charge.

Every week, “Sarajevo School of Alpinism”, together with the Association “Adventur”, offer Sarajevo citizens to experience the beauty of mountain climbing, and if they wish to continue with this interesting sport with professional alpinists, they can do it through basic and advanced courses in alpinism.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country full of mountains and rock climbing is becoming increasingly popular in recent years, especially among young people.

Samir Mehić, one of the instructors of “the Sarajevo school of Alpinism,” said that they have eight ropes for climbing currently on Dariva, but that the interest of citizens is far greater than that.

‘’Each rope has an experienced instructor who watches out for the tiniest details, all in order to prevent an accident,’’ says Mehić, adding that the alpinists will be hanging out with the citizens until the end of June.
