The European Statistical Agency (Eurostat) has published data from the Annual Survey on Quality of Life Indicators.

According to the Agency’s analysis, when it comes to “satisfaction with life”, Austria is in first place, while Germany and Bulgaria are the countries of the European Union with the least number of happy or satisfied people.

Austria achieved an overall score of 7.9 out of 10, and the poll in Germany showed a score of 6.5, compared to 7.1 last year.

Eurostat announced that EU citizens assess that they are mostly satisfied with the quality of life and the average rating is 7.1.

Poland, Finland and Romania ranked second together with 7.7 points, and Italy, Spain and France are around average, with a score of 7.1.

Bulgaria is the only EU country with a score below 6.

“It is interesting to see that some countries associated with low incomes in the recent past, such as Romania and Poland, are among the countries where life satisfaction is the highest,” Eurostat said.
