The holiday and non-working day in the Republika Srpska is today, November 21, when the Day of Establishment of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH is marked.

This day is, in accordance with the Law on Holidays of the Republika Srpska, a republican holiday, announced the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government.

On that day, republican and local self-government units and organizations, companies, institutions and other organizations and persons who professionally perform service and production activities will not work.

The law stipulates that the head of the municipality, that is, the mayor, will determine which companies, institutions and other organizations from the area of the local self-government unit are obliged to work and to what extent, in order to meet the necessary needs of citizens.

On Tuesday, November 21, it will be 28 years since the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH and its 12 annexes were initialed at the American base “Wright Peterson” in Dayton, which ended the war in BiH and established its constitutional and legal order.

This agreement created the state union of BiH, composed of two entities, the Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH, and District Brcko, which are signatories of all annexes.
