Today is Presentation of Project “Strengthening Planning Process in BiH”

zgrada delegacije eu u bih-2The twinning project “Strengthening Planning Process in BiH”, which is financed by the EU, will be presented to the public in Sarajevo today.

The project will place emphasis on supporting guidance and harmonization of planning activities in the sector of public administration in BiH.

The key beneficiary institution is the Directorate for Economic Planning of BiH, as the central institution for coordination of development planning in the country. For this coordination, partner institutions will be the Directorate for European Integration of BiH, as the key institution for the support of the BiH Council of Ministers in the formulation and implementation of necessary activities for European integration and ministries in fiscal and economic areas of work at the state and entity level.

A comprehensive group of medium and short-term experts will be available during the period of the realization of the project from February 2013 to February 2015 in order to contribute to various components of the project.

The first component will be dedicated to the development of methodologies and practical mechanisms, which can be applied to the overall planning process, while the second component will respond to training needs related to the implementation of the planning methodology, as well as strengthening capacity in the area of economic research.

The project is financed by the EU in the amount of 1.500.000 from the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA 2009), and implemented by the Agency for European Integration and Economic Development (AEI), a part of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Finance and in cooperation with the government of Slovenia.

The Head of the Operations Section will provide background information about the project for Justice and Home Affairs and Public Administration Reform in the EU Delegation to BiH Severin Strohal, Director of the Directorate for Economic Planning of BIH Ljerka Marić and the Ambassador of Austria to BiH Donatus Köck.

The presentation of the project will be held at the EU Delegation to BiH at 12:30, announced the EU Delegation to BiH.
