Croatian music star Toni Cetinski’s concert in Sarajevo, scheduled for the 40th anniversary of the Winter Olympic Games, was cancelled.
However, as he revealed to the Croatian media, he will not deal with lawsuits, even though he has grounds to sue the City of Sarajevo.
“I think the organizer has reasons and elements for the lawsuit. I personally will not deal with the mayor or her influencer friend. I have smarter work. And Sarajevo and I remain in an even stronger relationship than ever before and we will prove it once with a concert,” said Cetinski.
Let us remind you that a week ago, Toni’s concert in Sarajevo was officially cancelled, and he announced the occasion and revealed that so far it has never happened to him that someone canceled his concert.
“Statement regarding the cancellation of a concert in Sarajevo. I’ve experienced that too… Let someone ban me or cancel your concert. Now I’ve experienced that too. I don’t have a problem with canceling the concert, but we haven’t received anything official yet. It’s clear in the contract it says what and how it goes in case of cancellation,” Toni wrote and added:
“All my strength and energy are now focused on the concert that I owe to the audience for a long time, which is Arena Zagreb. The concert will be held on my birthday, 31 May 2024, and all peoples and entities from this area can attend it, because it is ours the currency is only love. With this concert, my audience and I will celebrate 35 years of my activity. Tickets go on sale in a few days. In a few days, on January 29 to be precise, the long-awaited duet with the young and excellent singer Adi Šoše will be released. So, that’s all coincided with the song to clearly convey what we think about the politics and prejudices that reign among the peoples and hot heads in these Balkan areas of ours, yours or theirs. With an emphasis on part of the lyrics: ‘It doesn’t matter where you pray, according to which holy book… Only it matters whether you are human or not,” Toni Cetinski wrote in a post on Facebook.
Let’s remind you, numerous celebrities, but also anonymous people, rebelled when it was announced that Toni would sing at the ZOI anniversary celebration.
As they stated, they have nothing against him, but they believe that someone from Bosnia and Herzegovina should sing.
After the news about the cancellation of Toni Cetinski’s concert spread in the media, Mayor Benjamina Karić spoke up and said that the City of Sarajevo did not arrange the concert of Toni Cetinski, nor is it canceling it.
“The City of Sarajevo neither arranged a concert by Toni Cetinski nor canceled it. I have been doing my job honestly since taking over the mandate. Every mark of the budget of the City of Sarajevo has been purposefully spent and will remain so as long as I am at the head of this institution. I am always open to the public and do not I allow anything I do to be slandered,” said the mayor, Kurir reports.
