With the Decision on temporary suspension and temporary reduction of customs tariffs on import of certain goods, which was recently adopted by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH has created a significantly more favorable business climate for investments in BiH, as it was concluded at yesterday’s meeting of Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirko Sarovic,  with the Slovenia’s Ambassador to BiH, Zorica Bukinac.

The Decision, that includes raw and processed materials used by BH producers in their personal production, which cannot be procured in BiH, is very important for raising the standards of production and competitiveness of domestic businessmen.

“Facilitating the import of equipment that can not be bought in BiH is very important for our companies who want to expand and modernize. Slovenia is among the top 5 investors in BiH and our imperative in the coming period is to create even better conditions for even more significant investments, “ Minister Sarovic emphasized.

The fact that investments from Slovenia are continued, compared to the previous years when they were largely slowed, is very encouraging. Besides the investments, the volume of commodity exchange is continuously increasing, as it was said at the meeting. The total trade exchange between BiH and Slovenia is currently about 1 billion euros, and it is important that BiH has achieved a balance between imports and exports with this country.

Ambassador of Slovenia expressed full support of Minister Sarovic’s work on improving the business climate in BiH, so a joint cooperation on support activities for new investors interested in investing in BiH was agreed.
