Tourism Potentials of BiH presented in Washington

b_161206119Tourism potentials of BiH were presented in Washington yesterday, on the second day of the Transatlantic Economic Forum organized by the Center for Transatlantic Relations SAIS within the University Johns Hopkins.

The forum gathered representatives of business and politic life from 13 countries of the broader Mediterranean, including BiH, and co-organizer is the American Chamber of Commerce.

President of the Supervisory Borad and project manager in the Bosnian American Foundation Dejan Radmilović dedicated yesterday’s presentation to the affirmation of the image of BiH and the presentation of the wealth of cultural and historical heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also prepared a video about the heritage of BiH.

Radmilović said that the heritage of BiH is insufficiently promoted and thus relatively unknown on large markets such as the USA and the countries of the Mediterranean, and broader.

“Also, we want this to be the first step towards building relationships with Mediterranean countries. Cross-border cooperation in this field can be an extremely powerful instrument for presentation of countries in unfavorable position, including BiH, and can help them fully take advantage of their potential. It can also help strengthen relations among countries of the Mediterranean. Since these efforts are almost entirely neglected, the intention of this project is to be the first in the row of steps that will help the creation and connection of BiH with the European network of the countries of the Mediterranean, which will then create opportunities for employment and inclusion of civil society, with respect for environmental protection. We will dedicate to the promotion of BiH tourism only after the forum and we already planned some activities to support and reinforce this branch in BiH,” said Radmilović.

Radmilović emphasized that they receive significant assistance from colleagues from S Tours, a tourist agency from Sarajevo. The Bosnian American Foundation will offer cooperation to relevant ministries and bodies who deal with promotion of tourism in order to achieve a positive and concrete effect, primarily by bringing tourists in BiH, and then taking advantage of enormous potentials offered by major markets.
