According to data from the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to record a positive trend in tourist traffic during June this year.

In June, Sarajevo was visited by a total of 89,550 guests, which represents an increase of 1.8 percent compared to the same month last year. Foreign tourists make up the dominant part of the visits, with a total of 79,020 arrivals, while domestic guests numbered 10,530. The total number of overnight stays was 193,958, which is an increase of 6.8 percent compared to June 2024.

The largest number of arrivals and overnight stays was achieved from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, China, the United States, Germany, Croatia, Serbia, Great Britain, Austria and Kuwait, which confirms Sarajevo’s attractiveness on the international scene.

In the period January-June 2025, 365,950 tourist arrivals were recorded, which is an increase of 10.3 percent compared to the same period in 2024. The number of overnight stays in the same period is 828,640, which represents a significant increase of 18.9 percent.

The increase in foreign overnight stays is particularly significant, amounting to 20.8 percent more compared to the first half of 2024, according to the KS Tourist Board.

“These results confirm that Sarajevo, thanks to the increasingly rich offer, festival and cultural scene, and better air connections, is still at the top of the most desirable tourist destinations in the region. We are extremely satisfied with the current summer season, we are continuing with activities on additional promotion and improvement of Sarajevo’s tourist offer,” emphasized Haris Fazlagić, president of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.
