Traditional Cimburijada in Zenica marked the First Day of Spring

Residents of Zenica started to gather on the bank of river Bosna last night, to celebrate the arrival of spring, along with the traditional Cimburijada, a meal made of eggs, and in this way, they celebrated the arrival of spring.

“Any birth in life, and especially of spring, is a sign that we need to rejoice because something is arriving. Spring is one of the most beautiful period of the year,” said Mayor Fuad Kasumovic, who opened this year’s event which has been celebrated for the last hundred years in Zenica, Fena reports.

According to tradition, the Zenica restaurant Rasim Salcinovic has today prepared Cimburijada meal out of 1,500 eggs, which will be divided to guests who came from other BH cities and abroad.

The first prize was given to Senad Mutapcic, second to Ajnur Saric and Muamer Kajic.

More than 750 works from 15 schools have been sent for the competition for the selection of the best literary and artworks of elementary school students on the topic “Spring arrived to my town”.
