US President Donald Trump said that a deal with Iran is possible by Monday and that Iran is negotiating, Fox News reported after an interview with Trump.

Today, he once again threatened the Iranian regime, which he gave a deadline of Monday to reopen the Strait of Hormuz before the US begins targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure.

– Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day, all in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it! Open the damned straits, you crazy bastards, or you’ll live in hell – Just watch! Thank God – wrote Trump in a post on Truth Social.

He previously announced that he will hold a press conference at the White House on Monday together with members of the military.

Trump also confirmed to Fox News that the US had sent weapons to anti-regime protesters in Iran amid a wider war against Tehran.

He said they delivered the weapons through the Kurds.

– We sent them a lot of weapons. We sent them through the Kurds. And I think the Kurds kept them – said Trump.

– We sent weapons to the demonstrators, a lot of them. And I think the Kurds have taken weapons – he added, reports Fox News.

The Strait of Hormuz will be reopened for transit only when transit revenues are used to compensate for war damage, the Iranian president’s office announced on Sunday.

“The Strait of Hormuz will only be reopened when part of the transit revenue is used to compensate for all the damages caused by the imposed war,” Mehdi Tabatabai, deputy for communications and information at Iran’s presidential office, said on the X social network platform.

Tabatabai sharply criticized President Donald Trump, stating that he “resorted to insults and nonsense out of desperation and anger” and accused him of “starting a large-scale war in the region and still bragging.”

The region has been on high alert since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive in Iran on February 28, which has killed more than 1,400 people to date, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile attacks on Israel, as well as on Jordan, Iraq and the Persian Gulf countries where US military units are stationed. Iran has also restricted the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
