US President Donald Trump extended the state of emergency in the US for a year under the pretext of “harmful foreign policy actions of Russia”, according to the text of the document signed by the US leader.

“The state of emergency is being extended due to the harmful foreign policy actions of the Government of the Russian Federation”, it was stated in the title of the document that the White House entered in the register of federal regulatory documents.

The media reports that the document will be published on April 14.

In the list of activities in the document, it is stated that the Russian government allegedly carried out the subversion of democratic elections in the USA and other countries, cyber activities and influence on foreign governments, which continue to represent “an unusual and exceptional threat to the national security, foreign policy and economy of the USA”, according to “Sputnik”.

“For this reason, the national emergency declared by Executive Order 14024 must remain in effect after April 15, 2025. Accordingly, in accordance with Article 202 /d/ of the National Emergency Act, I hereby extend the national emergency for another year,” stated the decision signed by Trump.
