The delegation of the Municipality of Centar returned to Sarajevo after visiting the Italian municipality of Reggio Emilia. The reason for the visit was the signing of the twinning agreement, signed by Mayor Luca Vecchi and Mayor Srdjan Mandic, in the presence of the chairmen of the municipal councils of these two municipalities Matteo Iorio and Sejad Djoza.

”I am convinced that by visiting and twinning with the municipality of Reggio Emilia, we have made a very important step, both for the Municipality of Centar and for the wider community, because this act opens new opportunities for us, both in the economic field and in areas such as education, culture, sports through projects and access funds that are now available to us,” Mandic said.

He believes that it is very important that a local community such as the Municipality of Centar establishes good relations and communication with municipalities and cities in Europe.

The delegation of the Municipality of Centar held a series of meetings with representatives from the E35 Foundation, the Italian Association for Responsible Tourism (AITR), the Italian Confederation of Crafts, Trade, Small and Medium Enterprises (CNA), the Association for Business Cooperation (Confcooperative), the Association for Production and Service Companies (Unindustria), and representatives of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Unimore).

On the second day of the visit, the delegation of the Municipality of Centar organized meetings with representatives of the Trade Community (CISL Reggio Emilia), the trade union (CGIL Reggio Emilia), and The Trade Unions Institute for Development Co-operation (ISCOS).

During their visit, the delegation of the Municipality of Centar managed to visit many sights owned by Reggio Emilia, as well as the International Photography Festival – Fotografia Europea, which has been held in this region since 2006, and the National Museum Reggio Emilia, Klix.ba writes.
