Police officers of Police Department Doboj sanctioned two people yesterday before the match of the football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina for displaying the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As confirmed to Klix.ba by the Doboj Police Department, persons from two passenger vehicles from Srebrenik were fined, although the legitimacy of this decision is questioned, given that it is not a “war flag”.

“Police officers of the PU Doboj, in the area of the city of Doboj, controlled two passenger cars, which were driven by two persons from the area of the municipality of Srebrenik. The flags of Bosnia and Herzegovina were displayed on those vehicles, which the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared unconstitutional in 2007 and prohibited their use. in a public place. The aforementioned persons were sanctioned under the Law on Public Order and Peace of the RS, and the flags in question were confiscated,” the Doboj Police Administration told.

In the video from Doboj owned by Klix.ba, it can be seen how two cars with the mentioned flags leave accompanied by the police.

Although the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina is often referred to as a “war flag” in the RS, according to photographs taken at the scene, it is evident that it is the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was used as an official symbol from 1992 to 1998.

In this regard, reference to the Decision of the Constitutional Court, and punishment under the Law on Public Order and Peace of the RS, is unclear.
