Two Malaysian military helicopters collided and crashed during a training exercise, killing all ten people on board, the navy said.
The helicopters were training at a naval base in the northern state of Perak to celebrate the navy’s 90th anniversary next month.
“It has been confirmed that all the people in the helicopters have died,” it said.
A video circulating on social media, which is said to show the incident, shows several helicopters flying low in formation. One of the helicopters veered to the side and caught the rotor of the other helicopter, causing it to overturn and crash.
Seven crew members were on board the AW139 Naval Operations Helicopter, the Navy said.
The three crew members were in the Fennec light helicopter, manufactured by the European multinational defense conglomerate Airbus.
Local media reported that the AW139 crashed into a sports complex at the naval base, while the Fennec crashed into a nearby pool.
The Navy said it would launch an investigation to determine what caused the accident, AA writes.
