Two Parties announced that They will not participate in Government Formation

President of the People’s European Alliance (NES) Nermin Ogrešević stated that this party will not participate in the government in which the president of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, even before the formation of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, violates the Agreement on guidelines, principles and goals in the executive and legislative authorities, which he signed with Nermin Nikšić on behalf of the “Eight” and with Dragan Čović, the president of HDZ BiH.

In the press release of this party, it is emphasized that the NES and the Party for BiH followed and considered a series of decisions initiated by Milorad Dodik, as well as his statements and announcements denying the competencies of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the existence of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

“We condemn the decision of the majority in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska (RSNA), led by Milorad Dodik, to adopt an unconstitutional law on immovable property used for the functioning of public authority, which, in an earlier attempt to enter into force, the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared unconstitutional in September last year. I believe that in this way, and with Dodik’s statement that “state property belongs to the entities”, the SNSD president eliminated himself from further participation in the process of forming the state government. We believe that there should be no further negotiations with those whose rhetoric and behavior represent a direct attack on the state and institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, our only homeland,” said Ogrešević.

He points out that they signed the Agreement exclusively by the provisions of the Constitution and the laws of BiH and that they expect all the signatories of that document to behave accordingly if they want to be their government partners.

“Therefore, we believe that this is exactly the moment when the “Eight” must stop negotiations with Dodik on the further formation of the government until the attacks on the state are stopped,” said the president of NES.

He called on the parties of the “Eight” to urgently take a position on this issue, stressing that further participation of this party in the negotiations regarding the formation of the government will depend on the attitude of the “Eight” towards the behavior of Milorad Dodik.
