Ukraine claims that it has captured more territory in Russia’s Kursk region, that it has more prisoners and that it has destroyed a jet bomber.

During the night and this morning, the assault troops advanced one to two kilometers in some parts of Kursk, Ukrainian army commander Oleksandr Sirsky said in a video posted on the Telegram channel of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He added that the Ukrainian army captured more than 100 Russian soldiers today.

Zelensky said that they will be exchanged for Ukrainian prisoners of war.

According to the Ukrainian side, the army deployed in Kursk also destroyed the Russian Su-34 plane that was used to launch devastating glide bombs on positions and cities on the front line in Ukraine.

The spokesman of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said yesterday that Kiev has no intention of occupying Russian territory, which it has occupied, but that the goal is to prevent Russia from firing missiles at Ukraine from Kursk, and that the offensive will stop when the war in Ukraine stops.
