The term of US Ambassador Michael Murphy officially ends on February 16, but as media close to the authorities of the Republika Srpska entity announced, he left our country this morning.

Murphy assumed the post of ambassador to BiH on February 18, 2022, and in those three years in our country, he left a significant mark, as one of the most agile diplomats.

He was active in monitoring all important political processes of our country, especially emphasizing the European path and NATO integration.

He was very harsh when it came to attacks on the state of BiH, which came from government officials from the RS, and he encouraged domestic institutions to take the initiative.

Because of such an approach, RS officials happily commented on his departure from BiH. In any case, Murphy will be remembered as one of the most engaged and agile diplomats.

Until a new US ambassador is appointed to our country, the charge d’affaires of the US Embassy will take over the position.

Douglas Jones was initially nominated as the new US ambassador, a hearing was held in the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, but the procedure was stopped and everything was returned to the White House for reconsideration, Klix.ba writes.
