The United States of America (US) is actively pursuing the establishment of an independent state of Palestine “with security guarantees” for Israel, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said today.
“We are actively pursuing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with real security guarantees for Israel, as we believe this is the best way to achieve lasting peace and security for Israel, the Palestinians and the region,” Miller said.
According to him, the United States of America has planning processes on how to best advance the establishment of a Palestinian state.
“We support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and we’re doing a lot of work within the government to think about how to achieve that, and you see us talking about it publicly,” Miller said.
Without commenting on the domestic activities the United States is doing to achieve that goal, Miller said there has been a “change in policy.”, AA writes.
