On the day of the inauguration of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who will begin his new term in office, the US Treasury Department announced that it is offering a reward of $25 million for his arrest.

As part of a program to combat drug trafficking, Washington is offering $25 million for any information leading to the arrest of Maduro and Venezuelan Minister of the Interior and Justice Diosdado Cabello.

In addition, a reward of $15 million has been announced for information leading to the arrest of Vladimir Padrino, Venezuela’s Minister of Defense.

Recall that Maduro, according to the Constitutional Court of Venezuela, which is under his control, won the presidential elections held in July of this year.
However, the opposition and numerous international organizations say that Maduro committed gross violations of electoral rules and that the real winner of the elections was opposition candidate Edmundo González.

He has, in the meantime, left the country due to threats from the Maduro regime that he will be arrested, and today, during the protests that were launched due to the inauguration, opposition leader María Corina Machado was also arrested, although she was soon released.
