Bosnian Tahir Zukic, a native of Srebrenica, is a successful businessman in the United States (U.S.) city of Bowling Green, who is also written about by the local media, who praise him for how he “gives back” to his city.

A refugee from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the owner of the Taz Trucking company decided to advertise the city logo on the back of each of his trucks, after a conversation with the former mayor of Bowling Green, Johnny Webb.

“We just made the decision that we really want to have this logo on the back of our trailers,” Zukic said.

Webb notes that Zukic’s decision is a gentlemanly act. He added that they had a competition for the city logo.

“We had a competition to come up with what we should put as a city logo and what we ended up with was Bowling Green, Kentucky, which was voted the best place to live by TIME magazine. And I said wow, this is going to be the best,” Webbpointed out.

Webb emphasized that Tahir’s career story is incredible.

“He didn’t speak a word of English, his wife spoke a little bit of English,” he said.

Zukic came to Bowling Green as a refugee from Bosnia in 2000. He started working in a company, but in the end he still got a license to drive a truck. A few years later, he founded his own company, which eventually became one of the main ones in the city.

“Bowling Green opened its arms and welcomed us. Today I simply think it’s good to give something back to this beautiful city,” said Zukic.

He emphasized that these stickers will be seen all over the country.

“They can be seen in Maine, they can be seen in Southern California, they can be seen in Washington state, Florida, Texas,” he concluded, Klix.ba reports.
