Members of the Operational Group for the Situation with Migrants in Una-Sana Canton emphasized that finding a location and opening a possible new temporary reception center for migrants in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina could only take place with the consent of the Cantonal Assembly, local communities and the Ministry’s security assessment.

This is one of the conclusions of the session of the Operational Group and also a response to the request of the Minister of Security of BiH Selmo Cikotic to find a suitable location for a possible reception center in the municipality of Velika Kladusa.

“Minister Cikotic sent a request to find a suitable location outside the populated area in Velika Kladusa, where a reception center with an accommodation capacity of up to 300 people would be established. Our position on this issue is clear, ie we believe that any new center should be opened. in the area of the USC, the prior consent of the cantonal assembly, local communities is required, as well as the security assessment of the USC MOI “, said the Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Mustafa Ruznic.

He reminded that the USC already has a migrant center in the settlement of Lipa with an accommodation capacity for 1,500 people, as well as the Temporary Reception Center Borici in Bihac.

“I am sincerely sorry that we are talking again about the new reception center in the USC, and not about the announced and promised even distribution of the burden of the migrant crisis throughout BiH,” said Ruznic.
