European Night of Museums, an annual celebration of culture and history, invites citizens to explore museums and experience common history, culture and traditions across Europe. During the most important day for museums across the world, these hubs of culture and tradition open their doors and prepare special programmes, inviting citizens to not only visit and learn, but to join them in appreciating and promoting cultural heritage.

Culture, art and history remind us of a shared past and help build stronger connections for the future, and celebration of them is one of the underlying themes of marking Europe Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of our activities during Europe Day celebration, in cooperation with the embassies of Austria, France, Greece and Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the EU Info Centre organised a virtual tour of prestigious European museums.

Visitors of the museums in Banja Luka, Jablanica, Konjic, Mostar, Sarajevo, Travnik and Trebinje had an opportunity to discover the Albertina Museum and the Museum of Natural History in Vienna, take a glimpse inside the renowned Louvre and the Acropolis Museum in Athens, thus joining millions of Europeans celebrating European Night of Museums across Europe.

European Night of Museums is an opportunity to visit permanent and temporary exhibitions, but also to discover museums in another way through numerous special events and activities. Every year since 2005, the European Night of Museums is a unique opportunity to discover new exhibitions, learn new things and make memories in unique houses of culture and tradition.
