Water Endangered Topčić-Polje Again Last Night

imageMembers of Civic Security of Zenica succeeded during last night to return the rising waters into the riverbed of Starinski creek, which has again poured out and threatened to endanger the residential part of Topčić-Polje located near Zenica.

 

After last night’s severe weather, followed by rain and wind, Starinski creek has poured out and again threatened Topčić-Polje and Starkuće.

 

The headquarters of Civic Security reacted promptly and with the help of construction machinery the members of Civic Security managed to return the water to its riverbed.

 

On this morning’s meeting the decision was made to continue with the activities on recovering the consequences of the natural disaster of high priority localities in the municipality during the weekend days.

 

The focus of the activities is still the clearing of Topčić-Polje and excavating the buildings by the banks of Starinski creek, Ciganski creek, Švabin creek and Orahovička River, and for the purpose of more rational use of resource, a rearrangement will be made of the available on-field machinery.

 

During the weekend continuous watch duties are ordered by the Municipality Headquarters of Civic Security, Civic Security service and terrain watches, along with the Civic Security Operations Center, which is constantly in the function of emergency response for cases in connection with the floods and landslides.
