We compared the Price of Fuel in BiH and the Region

fuel2 (2)Macedonia and Montenegro have the lowest prices of fuel and gas in the area of Southeast Europe, while BiH is on the third place.

According to official data of distributors, prices of fuel in the countries of South Eastern Europe on the 19th of April 2016 were the following: Liter of eurobenzin in BiH was 0,926 EUR, 0,890 EUR of diesel, and 0,414 EUR for gas.

In Albania, liter of gasoline cost 1,145 EUR, 1,138 EUR for diesel, and gas cost 0,396 EUR. In Macedonia, the gasoline is sold for 0,988 EUR, 0,713 EUR for diesel, and 0,429 EUR for gas, and in Montenegro gasoline cost 1,050 EUR, 0,900 EUR for diesel, and 0,650 EUR for gas. The most expensive fuel is in Slovenia and Croatia where gasoline prices are around 1.5 EUR, 1.1 EUR for diesel, and gas cost 0.6 EUR per liter, according to Vecernji list of BiH.

Further fall in fuel prices can be expected in the coming days in the region because oil prices fell by more than 1 % on the world market.

The decline has been recorded because the world’s largest producers failed to reach an agreement to freeze production at the level of January at the meeting in Doha. Saudi Arabia demanded in Doha that all oil-producing countries that are participating in the agreement freeze the production, which is impossible because of Iran, which started to return to the world scene, did not gave a consent.

Several sources said to Reuters that OPEC countries will meet again on the 2nd of June, and if Iran agrees to freeze production, they will renew talks with non-member countries of that oil cartel.

Due to significantly lower prices of fuel and gas, gas stations in BiH, especially in border areas, are often “destination” for drivers from the neighboring Croatia and Serbia. In case that authorities have not increased excise tax in BiH on petroleum products, fuel prices would be even lower.
