What has B&H mostly exported and imported?

Thus, according to the statistical data for the past year, B&H has made exports of 9.21 billion BAM, which indicates that the exports increased by 3.09 % compared to 2014. Imports amounted to 15.40 billion BAM, which is less by 2.45 %, and these positive effects of increasing exports and reducing imports in 2015 resulted in a reduction of the foreign trade deficit of 9.68 % in comparison to 2014. It was different situation last year.

The top five products

The trade deficit in 2014 amounted to 7.52 billion BAM, which is 10.69 % more than in 2013.

The Agency for Statistics of B&H announced the top five products in B&H in the field of import/export for the year of 2014. Thus, for example, in that year, BiH mostly exported electricity to the value of 442.8 million BAM.

Main partners

The most important partners when it comes to imports and exports for B&H were published. In terms of exports, the main export partner for B&H in 2014 was Germany with 1.3 billion BAM. On the second place was Italy with 1.19 billion BAM. In earlier years, Croatia was a leading country for export of B&H products, and now it is on the 3rd place with a value of 955 million BAM. On the 4th place is Serbia (801 million BAM), while on the 5th place is Austria (756 million BAM).

When it comes to imports, on the first place was again Germany with 1.87 billion BAM, and on the second place was Croatia with 1.85 billion BAM. On the 3rd place was Italy with 1.65 billion BAM, while the 4th was Serbia with 1.63 billion BAM, and on the 5th place was China with 1.3 billion BAM.

When it comes to the previous year – 2015, the data showed that the European Union is definitely the most important foreign trade partner of B&H, on whose market we exported goods worth 6.56 billion BAM. The most important partner from the European Union is Croatia. In 2015 and in the previous year, there was a reduction of total imports of products from Croatia to 6.09 %, and exports by 3.61 %.

In the structure by groups of products, there was a decrease in imports of products of animal origin (meat, fish, milk) with a simultaneous increase in exports of these products.
