The Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) informs the public that the collection of public revenues in 2025 showed a growth trend and that taxpayers in the FBiH paid a record 8.771.286.144 BAM in public revenues in the period January-December 2025, which is 821.652.900 BAM more than in January-December 2024, or an increase of 10.34%.
As of December 31st, 2025, the number of active business entities, including business units and branches in the FBiH, was 134.788, while as of December 31st, 2024, the number of active business entities, including business units and branches in the FBiH, was 131.711.
The number of employed persons by place of residence as of December 31st, 2025, was 545.409. According to the official records of the Tax Administration of the FBiH, as of December 31st 2025, 176.664 persons, or 32.39%, were employed up to the age of 35, while 368.745 persons, or 67.61%, were employed aged 36 and over. As of December 31st, 2025, 302.625 men, or 55.49%, and 242.784 women, or 44.51%, were employed in the FBiH.
Compared to December 31st, 2024, when the number of employed persons in the FBiH stood at 551.452, a total of 6.043 jobs were lost over the course of one year.
Although the Government of the FBiH claimed that the labour market is stable, with a decline in the number of employed persons and a constant increase in the number of pensioners, the system could collapse very quickly. Almost half of the budget for 2026, 4.3 billion BAM, is planned solely for pensions, including a calculated increase of 17%.
According to official data from the Tax Administration of the FBiH, as of December 31st 2025, a total of 110.286 fiscal devices were installed in the FBiH, through which a total turnover of 7.127.838.877.88 BAM was recorded in December 2025.
And the data show that at the end of December 2024, there were 453.900 pension beneficiaries, and in December 2025, there were 1465.132, which is an increase of 11.232. Thus, in January, the difference between the number of employed persons and the number of pensioners amounts to 80.277, which is an insufficient difference given that pensions are largely paid from salary contributions for pension and disability insurance.
Compared to December 31st, 2024, the number of fiscal devices increased by 4.623, and the recorded turnover in December 2025 was higher by 503.974.563.10 BAM compared to December 2024.
In the period January-December 2025, a total turnover of 75.451.871.066.47 BAM was recorded, representing an increase of 5.548.061.370.34 BAM, or 7.94%, compared to the same period in 2024, when total turnover amounted to 69.903.809.696.13 BAM.
The municipality with the highest number of fiscal devices as of December 31st 2025, is the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, where 7.239 fiscal devices were installed. The municipality in which the highest total turnover via fiscal devices was recorded in December 2025 is the Municipality of Ilidza, where total turnover of 581.183.568.93 BAM was recorded.
