What is the Value of Medicines Imported to BiH in 2018?

More than 4.3 million kilograms of medicines whose value amounts to more than 393.7 million BAM were imported to BiH in the period from January 1 to June 30, this year.

In the same period, we exported more than a million kilograms of medicines with the value of 64.9 million BAM, as confirmed by the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH.

The top five countries from which we imported in the first half of this year are Germany, Slovenia, France, Switzerland and Italy.

In the first six months of this year, we imported around 559 tons of medicines from Germany whose value amounted to 77.5 million BAM, from Slovenia – 282.5 tons whose value amounted to 50.5 million BAM and from France – 328.1 tons whose value amounted to 43, 1 million BAM.

Last year, the top five countries from which we imported were also Germany, Slovenia, France, Switzerland and Italy.

In the year of 2017, our country imported more than 1,300 tons of medicines with the value of 150.6 million BAM, from Slovenia – 546.2 tons worth 93.4 million BAM, and from France – 718.5 tons worth 89.9 million BAM, as stated from ITA BiH.

According to the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, most of medicines from BiH in the first half of 2018 were exported to the Russian Federation (445.4 tons worth 32.7 million BAM), Serbia (188.2 tons worth 12 million BAM), Kosovo (25, 8 tons worth 3.6 million BAM). In the year of 2017, we exported medicines in the Russian Federation (989.4 tons worth 90.5 million BAM), Serbia (494.2 tons worth 21.1 million BAM), and Kosovo (55.6 tons worth 7 million BAM).
