meeingPrime Minister of the Canton Sarajevo, Elmedin Konaković, and the Minister of Transport in the Government of the Canton Sarajevo, Mujo Fišo, visited the Mayor of Istanbul, Kadir Topbas, and expressed their gratitude for donating 30 buses that are now very essential part of public transportation in the city of Sarajevo.

Istanbul is ready to continue supporting Sarajevo.

“We are delighted with welcome and friendly meeting with great friends of Sarajevo and B&H. We expressed our gratitude for the recent donation of buses to the Mayor Topbas. As we were informed, we can expect another significant contingent of buses in the forthcoming months, which will improve public transportation in Sarajevo,” said Konaković.

Minister Fišo emphasized that the hosts are willing to provide their help and experience in other segments of functioning of public transport as well, as in the printing, system of collection and control of cards, as well as better and more efficient system of parking in urban areas.

City of Istanbul, with its good solutions regarding the arrangement of infrastructure capacity, is ranked among the cities that are the world leaders with their organized system of garbage disposal, landfills construction and electricity production on them, as well as the efficient water supply system. Prime Minister Konaković said that the city administration of Istanbul and their companies are ready to provide significant help for Sarajevo in these fields as announced from the press service of the Government of CS.

Collaboration between cities of Sarajevo and Istanbul should be expanded in the fields of education, improvement and exchange of students and professors as well as in all other fields that would contribute to better relations of these two friendly cities, is one of the conclusions of the visit of officials of the Canton Sarajevo to Istanbul. Special gratitude belongs to Muzafer Cilek, honorary Consul and President of BIGMEV, the Foundation for Development of Relations between B&H and Turkey, and Selmo Cikotić, member of this society.
