Who is blocking the Awarding of prominent Police Officers of the BiH Border Police?

It has been almost three months since the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) submitted to the BiH Ministry of Security the names of police officers who have been awarded with recognitions for their special achievements.

The awards are gold and silver police badges and medals for bravery.

Unfortunately, recognitions for 21 prominent police officers were never handed, because the Minister of Security of BiH, Selmo Cikotic, did not issue the necessary solutions, but formed a commission that did not have a session on that occasion.

“The result is another disparagement of police officers who, due to lazy administration, cannot take the rewards they deserve,” they said.

Given the situation with the coronavirus, last year there were no awards for police officers at all, so this year the awards for 2020 and 2021 should have been included.

The Law on Administrative Procedure prescribes a deadline for deciding within 30 days, and in particularly complex cases, the deadline can be extended for another 30 days.

The exact reason why the Ministry of Security of BiH has not issued decisions for almost 90 days is not known, although there is speculation that the reason is that the proposals for rewarding that came from the office of the Minister of Security were not accepted, Klix.ba writes.
