Why the Flags of Neighboring Countries are shown in Entity and State Institutions?

The long-awaited appointment of the missing judges in the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) was finally started from the deadlock yesterday. With a barrage of insults towards his critics, primarily the high representative in BiH Christian Schmidt, the president of the FBiH stated in front of the journalists that he finally made the decision on the appointments. In his relatively short address, he made a series of gaffes, such as the one that no one raises the question of equality in the Constitutional Court of the FBiH, where there are currently, four women, and also he posed the question to one of the journalists present, whom he directly asked if she had asked a “commissioned question”.

However, what attracted attention were the flags placed behind the president of FBiH.

Aware that entity flags have long been declared unconstitutional (just like the term county), but also the fact that the president of the FBiH is from the Croatian people, we still cannot help but ask why is there the flag of the neighboring country at Marinko Cavara’s press conference? Yes, nothing new, many will say, so it is a well-established practice. In the Republika Srpska (RS), national flags are regularly avoided in the cabinets, and the flag of Serbia (or even the RS) is constantly on the lapel of a member of the BiH Presidency. However, the question remains, for how long will this practice be a regular rule for state and entity representatives who regularly earn their salary in the institutions of BiH (or its entities)?
