winnersHungarian Tamas Nagy is the winner of the 9th Coca-Cola Sarajevo Half Marathon with a record time of 1:06:38, while the last year’s winner, Olivera Jevtic from Serbia, defended women’s title with the time 1:14:30.

Osman Junuzovic and Rahima Zukic from B&H are the winners of Novo Nordisk Fun Run race of 4 kilometers.

Among the record 1,500 participants from 32 countries, of which almost 1,000 were registered for the half marathon, a Hungarian Nagy returned to the winner’s place after two years leaving behind him Darko Zivanovic from Serbia (1:07:43) and Drago Paripović from Croatia (1:13:46).

In the women’s competition, Sladjana Perunović from Montenegro (1:14:37) and Hungarian Szabo Tunde (1:19:21) ended the race behind Jevtic.

“Despite the rain, the Half Marathon has become an event that is making happy not only runners, but our fellow citizens as well, and it is a great honor for us. We are grateful on the generous support of our sponsors, volunteers, friends and of course everyone who participated, especially to the students of the School of running ‘Klix,’ and I want to congratulate to all those who ran their first half marathon today, after months of preparation,” said Director of the Association Marathon, Erol Mujanović, who also thanked to all the services without which the organization would not be possible at first place.

Within the Novo Nordisk Fun Run race of 4 kilometers, which included 550 male and female competitors, last year’s winner Junuzovic won again with improved time 10:06:10, while the runner-up was Sasa Stolic from Serbia, with the time 10: 06: 80. The 3rd place went to local runner Stefan Cuk (10:11).

In the women’s competition, competitors from B&H definitely dominated. Zukić was the fastest with a time of 11:54:06 and the 2nd place this year went to Katarina Lemez (12:34), which improved last year’s third place result, while Milana Šekara was the 3rd with time of 14:36.

“The increase in the number of participants of the Novo Nordisk Fun Run race is a proof that with our hard work we managed to motivate and inspire others to have healthy, sporting lifestyle and to participate in a sporting event, which always has a humanitarian character, and to promote the capital of B&H, while taking care of themselves,” added Mujanović, noting interesting fact that a six-year old Sanjin Trbonja ran his first Fun Run race.

Organization of the 9th Coca-Cola Sarajevo Half Marathon and the Novo Nordisk Fun Run was sponsored by: Coca-Cola HBC B-H Sarajevo, Konzum, Novo Nordisk, Bosnalijek, Nestle, Orthomol sport, Guma M, Kakanj Cement, New Event, Ecoton, BBI Center, the Municipality Center Sarajevo, Residence Inn Marriott, Courtyard Marriott, Government of Sarajevo Canton, Bio Save, Posao.ba, Hostel Massimo, Garmin, Sarajevo City Center, Embassy of the Kingdom of Great Britain, Polyclinic Al Tawil, Rahatlook, GBT, City of Sarajevo, Zlatar Sofić, Ramis, D&H Agency, Ekopak, Lasko Beer, Kult, as well as the media sponsors Klix.ba, Antenna Sarajevo, akta.ba, trcanje.rs and trcanje.hr.
