The “Renaissance” Association wanted to raise attention by “With narcissus against Breast Cancer” action on Saturday in Sarajevo’s Ferhadija Street.

Chairman of the Steering Committee of the “Renaissance” Senka Fejzovic told Federal News Agency that activists of this association, among other activities, and with the selling of narcissus, they are fighting for the rights of patients suffering from malignant illnesses.

“Every year, we celebrate the Day of Narcissus, the coming of spring and new life. The association operates on a voluntary basis, has been in existence for over 20 years and has more than 100 members, of which approximately 30 are active, and it is known that there are about 5,000 women who had breast cancer in Sarajevo Canton,” said Fejzovic.

She called on all women who are cured of this disease to join the Fighting Association for the establishment of the Lymphatic Center.

“Lymphedema is a problem that arises as a result of the treatment of malignant diseases in which swollen parts of the body are burned, and which must be treated with special methods. We in the Federation are the only one in Europe that do not have a Center for the Treatment of Lymphedema. I call on all those with lymphedema to join us, because that is very important,” Fejzovic said.

Activists always point out the importance of preventing and early detection of breast cancer, they also point out that society needs more to engage in preventive measures and the fight against this disease.
