Several associations whose members are women of Srebrenica and Podrinje demand detailed investigation on framed procedures against survived Bosniaks of Srebrenica and witnesses forced to falsely testify in this procedures.
“The victims of genocide demand a detailed investigation and undertaking of legally stipulated sanctions by the Hague Tribunal and the Court of B&H for participants in these dirty activities, as well as a public announcement of investigation results, since that is the least they can give to the victims of genocide,” it was stated in the message by the following associations: Association Movement of Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves, Women of Srebrenica, Mothers of Srebrenica and Women of Podrinje.
Open letter of this content was submitted yesterday by the associations to the Chief Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal Serge Brammertz.
“You, as the Chief Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal, are very familiar with the name of Samir Avdić who appeared in B&H these days and shocked the entire public with his statements, especially the victims of genocide. According to B&H media, Samir Avdić was also a defense witness of Radovan Karadžić, and it was now revealed just now under which circumstances. Samir stated that he was kidnapped in B&H five years ago and transferred to Serbia, where he was held captive by the Serbian authorities, tortured and forced to falsely testify in various procedures. Especially disturbing statement is that he was forced to falsely testify in the case against Naser Orić and that the Chief Prosecutor of Serbia Vladimir Vukičević and the Chief Prosecutor of B&H Goran Salihović personally prepared and mounted that entire process. Avdić stated that the Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić quoted a text from his statement, induced by force, referring to war crimes committed by Naser Orić with fellow fighters from Srebrenica,” members of associations stated in the letter to Brammertz.
According to their further statements, Samir Avdić highlighted that several other Bosniaks “entered the program of preparation for mounted processes in B&H” and explained how the pressure was put on false witnesses.
“It is unbelievable that political structures from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina interfere in court procedures, participate in their framing, and use media to put pressure on judicial bodies to deal with legally forbidden procedures, thus presenting themselves as fighters for human rights and their own peoples,” it was further stated in the letter.
