Wooden Houses of Mustafa Durakovic from Bugojno attract a lot of Attention

Mustafa Durakovic from the settlement Voznik near Bugojno has a hobby that, as he says, makes his days more interesting in the yard decorated with replicas that he loves to create.

Ever since he retired in 2012, he is engaged in making wooden houses that are attracting the attention of passersby with their different looks and dimensions.

“Many of them stop by, enter the garden and visit my little village. They are mostly surprised with what they see and they praise my efforts. There are also, of course, those who wish to have some of these houses in their close vicinity,” he said.

Mustafa said that at the very beginning he made a dozen bird houses for his grandchildren and he made the first house based on a photograph of a Bosnian house from Sarajevo, which he saw in the newspaper.

He adds that he fills his free time by making small houses of wood, glass and other materials, but more importantly, he has found some inner satisfaction in doing this.

In the end, he noted out that he has great support from his family and that every man, whether he lives in a village or in a city, in a private house or building, he can find some hobby for himself.

“It is a bit hard at first, but when you start it becomes obsessions, something that needs to be done. And it gives you a pleasure, in every sense. It does not have to be material, but it fulfills the man for sure,” said Mustafa Durakovic.
