Aladža Mosque Works vakuf.baFinal works on the protection of the previously executed construction works on one of the most significant projects by the Islamic Community in B&H, on Aladža Mosque in Foča, from external climate effects are nearing completion these days.

“Geographical position of the city of Foča in the south eastern Bosnia, on the banks of rivers Drina and Ćehotina, is such that unfavourable weather conditions for execution of any kinds of construction works are expected in the coming winter period,” said the Director of Waqf Directorate of the Islamic Community in B&H Dr. Senaid Zajimović.

Accordingly, the construction site must be adequately prepared for the winter break, analysis of the previously executed works must be completed and plan and program of activities on continuation of works for next year, when favourable weather conditions allow it, must be made.

“The works have been executed in accordance with the defined dynamics and plan of reconstruction of the mosque, thus there is no delay in execution of works. Taking into consideration the complexity of works and the significance of the mosque in cultural-historical sense, we can express satisfaction with works done so far,” Zajimović said.

Majority of activities in the winter period will most probably be directed towards quarries, in order for sufficient amounts of stone to be provided for the construction of stone elements of the mosque.

Participants in the implementation of this project are the Mufti Office of Goražde. Waqf Directorate, Majlis of the Islamic Community Fola, main contractor “Sama Inšaat” and sub-contractors “Bišina” Ltd. And “Kara drvo” Ltd. Supervision over the executions of works in entrusted to the Institute for Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage of Republika Srpska, “Arhi plus” Ltd., and Joint Commission of the General Waqf Directorate of the Republic of Turkey and the Waqf Directorate of the Islamic Community in B&H.
