Young People from CS who received miserable Subsidies: “We trusted them, but they misled us”

Are we worth more than one square meter of an apartment, asked young people yesterday who are beneficiaries of subsidies from the Canton Sarajevo (CS) Government, dissatisfied with the allocated amounts.

Prime Minister Nihad Uk and Minister Bojan Bosnjak did not address them during the protest. The young people say they were deceived and do not rule out the possibility of new protests.

Young people can only buy this much space, they say, on the basis of a housing subsidy of 4.800 BAM. Young people deserve more than one square meter, is the message of the protest. A loan for an apartment was also taken out by Ajnur Hadziahmetovic. He says that all young people have loans for 15-20 or 25 years and that they count on government assistance of at least 10 thousand BAM when buying.

“The price has risen drastically, salaries do not follow it. It was difficult to find an apartment and get a loan. And then we expected help, which was announced as a record, in the end, it turned out to be just a false hope,” he said.

It was the Minister who said that in the competition itself, it was stated that the subsidy would amount to up to 12 thousand BAM, depending on the budget resources.

“This would mean that they could only give us one BAM if it is “up to 12 thousand BAM”. What offends us is that in all public statements, it was said that it would go above 10 thousand and it is being considered up to 12 – which means that 10 is guaranteed. This particularly offends us,” said Aldin Tinjak.

“At the meeting, we showed the prime minister that video to remind him. He started talking about other projects, about subsidies for kindergartens, for students. We appreciate all the projects, but we ask that this project also be completed as promised,” Alma Mecevic stated.

“We believed in the Government and in those statements, but they misled us. The very fact that the final list came out on December 27th shows that they did not want any budget rebalancing”, said Delila Herac, N1 writes.
