Amar Imamovic, the Coordinator of the International Camp “Murs Murs” that is the event that turned Gorazde upside down these days, invited young people from all over the world to meet a different Culture Center and friends from different countries.
About hundred young people from Palestine, Germany, Tunisia, France, and Belgium are participating in the camp. They are talking about selected topics, including their differences, wars, different opportunities in the world and problems that they want to solve.
They are participating in workshops on the topics of theater and photography, they spend their days at the banks of Drina River in Omladinska. A lot of fun and good music is waiting for them in the evening hours. They are organizing market where they sell things they made and give all the money to people who need help.
Everything about Murs Murs is happening spontaneously, but it represents the result of a well-organized association where the organizers of large events would have something to learn from young people from Gorazde.
“We were motivated by the fact that no one else did anything like this ever before, or they did not do anything, so it seemed to us that it is the same thing. We tried to create and do something, we have improved some things, and some not because we realized that we do not have enough resources or capabilities, but we will definitely work on it,” said Imamovic.
He believes that “Murs Murs” is an example that young people can be animated.
“They come with a smile every morning, they are carrying cables, speakers, and this project really shows that it does not take much money or anything else, but it is very important for us to know why we are doing it. We are working without a daily allowance and without meetings of the board of directors. This is absolutely no problem for us,” said Imamovic.
