‘Yugoslav Standard (JUS)’

JUS-Jugoslovenski standardAs part of SOS Design Festival in Gallery Java Sarajevo, the exhibition ‘Yugoslav Standard (JUS)’ will open on 10 October at 19:30.

The JUS exhibition features legendary domestic products that my generation cynically avoided, preferring foreign products that we primitively deemed more valuable. We understood “What’s not ours we don’t want; what’s ours we won’t give” as a mere platitude, and “brotherhood and unity” as a boring, cheap phrase, proving to history that we were unworthy of what we once had. This makes the exhibition even more important, because it will serve as inspiration to new generations and a warning to our generation, said in a statement by JUS.
